2G iPod Shuffle available on November 3
Nearly two months after Apple’s "It’s Showtime" event, the half-ounce 2G iPod Shuffle will finally hit retail stores worldwide on November 3. The 1GB player is still priced at $79, ships with earbuds and a docking station, and has a battery life of up to 12 hours. Available in silver only, the new Shuffle features a built-in clip that makes it worthy of Apple’s "most wearable iPod ever" advertisements.
Personally, I’d much rather wait a few more months (years?) for the iRiver S10 to make it to the U.S. It’s about the same size as the Shuffle but with double the capacity, an OLED display, FM radio/recording, and more codec support. It’s more expensive, of course, but the added cost only sprinkles some truth into the old "you get what you pay for" addage.
