Dell Streak US presale starts August 12th: $300 with AT&T contract, $550 without

Streak-release-official

After a series of false starts and posted-then-pulled information, the Dell Streak is officially being released in the US this week. Anyone who signed up for the pre-sale, which is still open, will be able to order the Android 1.6-running carbon black unit this Thursday, August 12th, for the previously leaked pricing of $299.99 with a two-year AT&T contract or $549.99 without a contract. General sale begins the following day, August 13th.

Note that this Streak is not being sold unlocked as many had hoped and/or expected due to Dell's statement at D8 in June. Unlocked is not the same thing as "without a contract." While it's possible that there will eventually be an unlocked Streak, the one being sold off-contract this week is not it.

All of the official Streak accessories will be available during the presale, including the car dock kit ($39.99) and HDMI-cable-not-included home AV dock ($69.99).

So who's buying on the 12th and which accessories are you getting?
