Deal alert: HTC One S is free at T-Mobile on June 15 and 16

This upcoming Friday and Saturday, T-Mobile is giving dads everywhere an excuse to get a new “4G” smartphone, like the HTC One S. The offer is good for new and existing customers who are eligible to upgrade, and the only downside I can see is that this requires the use of a mail-in rebate, which means you’ll have to pay the cash up front.

However, if you’re willing to do this, and you don’t mind signing up for a new 2-year contract, this looks like a great deal. And even though I’d recommend the One S as the best 4G Android smartphone on T-Mobile at the moment, I should mention that any 4G smartphone is eligible for this deal. (However, if you’re interested in a Samsung, I’d hold off on the Samsung Galaxy SII, since the SIII is right around the corner.)

If you’re thinking about taking advantage of this deal, but you’re still a little unsure, be sure to check out my in-depth review of the One S, along with Pocketables’s dedicated One Series coverage.
