Official contest kickoff: Win a Nexus 7 tablet or $50 cash from Pocketables!

featured15 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

We’ve been talking about this for the past couple of weeks, but you can consider this the official contest kickoff: from now until September 30, you can enter to win a brand new Nexus 7 tablet (our full review) or $50 in cold hard cash, deposited directly to your PayPal account. Every comment you leave on the site between now and then is an entry into the contest, but please read our giveaway guidelines below for more specific details.

One reader will win a brand new Nexus 7 tablet.

The rules for the Nexus 7 giveaway are simple: comment on any article on the site, anytime between September 1 and September 30, and you’re automatically entered into the drawing. You can comment as often as you want, and each comment counts as a new entry, thereby increasing your chances of winning. The more you contribute to the Pocketables community, the better your chances are of winning!

Another reader will win $50 via PayPal.

This individual will be chosen by the editors of Pocketables based on the quality of the comments he or she leaves. In other words, to increase your chances of winning $50, your comments should have substance and add to the conversation by sharing your own unique perspectives, insight, experiences, opinions, advice, suggestions, or tips.

Some things to keep in mind:

The contest is open to anyone, regardless of your location. However, please make sure it’s legal for you to enter, depending on the laws where ever you live. (In many places, that means you’ll need your parent’s permission to participate if you’re under a certain age.) You will need to provide a valid email address so we can contact you if you win, but don’t worry – your email stays private, and we won’t sell it or use it for anything else.

Pocketables tries not to censor anyone, but we also don’t tolerate spam or hate speech. We’ll delete comments that we believe fall into either of those categories, and if we decide to delete your comment, you will be automatically disqualified.

Finally, don’t worry if you see us editors participating in the comments section, too – we’re only there to contribute to the conversation, and we can’t win anything ourselves!

That being said, go forth and comment! We can’t wait to see some old faces and meet more new ones. With your help, we’ve already started building a great community here, so let’s keep it up! Oh, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
