Rumor: HTC M8 to arrive on all four major US carriers by end of Q1 2014
Late last week, we received leaked images of a device that could be the successor to the HTC One, currently known only as the HTC M8 (the HTC One was known as the M7 before it was officially announced). Now, if the latest rumors from evleaks are to be believed, the device will launch on all four major US cell phone service providers – Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile – by the end of Q1 2014.
This timing certainly make sense – the HTC One was originally supposed to launch in March 2013 (the end of Q1 2013), but was pushed back due to components shortages. If HTC wants to keep the same timeline going forward, we should expect the successor of the HTC One to launch in March 2014.
As some commentators have previously pointed out, this puts HTC at a slight competitive edge over Samsung – the Galaxy S5 probably won’t be released until Q2, so any extra weeks of sales that HTC can manage to find certainly won’t hurt.
HTC M8 unsurprisingly destined for AT&T, among others.
