Get a message from the CIA extorting you to hide records of child porn?
I regularly get the emails that claim they infected my phone and computer and have been watching everything I do and the sites I visit. There’s usually a request that I send $500-$5000 in bitcoin to erase videos they’ve taking of me “sexually abusing” myself.
TL;DR – obvious scam is obvious.
Well, a new set is hitting people up for hush money to hide evidence of child porn the CIA found. I got the following beauty Sunday the 17th from someone claiming to be Edward Norton of the CIA.

My name is Edward Norton and I am a technical collection officer working for Central Intelligence Agency.
It has come to my attention that your personal details including your email address ([email protected]) are listed in case #94731625.
The following details are listed in the document’s attachment:
Your personal details,
Home address,
Work address,
List of relatives and their contact information.
Case #94731625 is part of a large international operation set to arrest more than 2000 individuals suspected of paedophilia in 27 countries.
The data which could be used to acquire your personal information:
Your ISP web browsing history,
DNS queries history and connection logs,
Deep web .onion browsing and/or connection sharing,
Online chat-room logs,
Social media activity log.
The first arrests are scheduled for April 8, 2019.

Imagine however that it’s actually a scam run by the FBI to see who’s dumb enough to pay and then go knock on their doors and seize their devices under probably cause?
Imagine it’s a scam to get you to Google it, and then Google just turns over the IPs of everyone who googled it and the FBI goes and knocks on their door.
