Disney+ and other provider content now searchable in Google Play

If you’re searching for the Mandalorian in the Google Play app, it’ll pop up. This was a surprise for me today. While it said, you know, that I had to go get it on Disney+ this heralded some welcome enhancement in searching.

Not having to hit up four streaming services to find who’s streaming my old Christmas movies is now an option… well, hopefully.

Most of the change appears to be in the Google Play Movies app, which is now allowing you to define your sources. This seems mostly geared at the search crowd as you can’t purchase individual episodes of anything and the streaming service is still required, but it’s a neat improvement.

You can also evidently put in your cable or satellite provider and upcoming airings will (presumably,) be searchable.

Don’t have the update yet? I’ll roll to you two days after you’ve forgotten about it.

Several hundred more words that say the same thing so that the SEO robots think there’s actual content omitted.
