Google discontinuing the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor
As with all things Google, the thing I actually really love about them is being discontinued. OK, that’s a little dramatic, but the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor is going the way of the Nexus according to 9to5Google. Just when I’ve finally got two solidly working cameras for the first time.
Updates will still be coming down the line for existing owners, and a new model is expected to roll out shortly. Hopefully the updated cameras will be a little more robust as I’m on replacement camera #3 for one of my two.
Hopefully they’ll also work on something to increase the speed of connecting to the Nest cameras… nothing like being notified two minutes late that someone’s in the front yard or struggling 40+ seconds to answer the doorbell on the phone.
