Ookla’s Q3 speedtest of Starlink indicates meh happening in the US

As the night sky becomes littered with more Starlink satellites you’d think speeds would be increasing exponentially, but that doesn’t seem to be the case according to Ookla’s Q3 Starlink data.

In the US download speeds decreased from 97Mb to 87Mb on average, and the median upload speed dropped a hair from 13.89 to 13.54.

The speeds appear to correspond to adoption rates, so this probably will work itself out with time as the latest batch of Starlink satellites get into place and go live.
