Default Video Transfer to PC - no sound?

I have the Evo 4G, I used "Camcorder" the other night to record two sections of a dance recital. When I transfered to my PC with Windows 7 Media Player, I can watch the video but there is no sound. They play fine on my phone with video and sound.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another program that I should use?

Sounds like a codec issue on your computer.

The 4G LTE produces MPEG4 videos using an h264 codec with AAC 48HZ stereo audio by default.
Not entirely sure what the 4G original and the 3D use.

My bet is you do not have the correct audio codec installed on your Windows machine, or something has screwed up the codec.

If it's persistent across all videos, you can try installing the k-lite codec pack - it generally has great settings/fixes things. Unfortunately if you have a PC with a mass amount of custom mfg bloatwar, it might mess up how you play media. You can find that at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...codec_pack.htm

If you get a chance, let us know what type of computer it was and if k-lite had any unintended consequences.

I don't recommend it very often because when a computer ships with custom video capture, playback, etc codecs I'm always worried it will break things, but they've been working on that pack for a long time and I have not heard complaints for a couple of years now.

The computer is a 3 or 4 year old E-machine with Windows 7. I stripped most of the bloatware when I set it up. I haven't noticed any problems since loading the K-Lite file.
