Sony Style features My Style

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for customization. When a company offers a product in more than the standard black or white, you can bet that I’ll be in line for it. Presumably for folks like me, then, Sony announced today that its new My Style personalization service is now available at Sony Style stores throughout the country and of course online.

My Style thrives on everyone’s love of expressing themselves, as evidenced by the opening line of the press release, and is broken down into three components: personalization, customization, and exclusives. For a company that prides itself on being stylish and innovative, these categories aren’t exactly the epitome of creativity. (Surprise! You can personalize a Vaio notebook via My Style’s "personalization" option.)

In truth, the service does little more than offer customers the option to buy and/or engrave select Sony gear that has received a solid or patterned paint job. And until Colorware expands its offerings, My Style will be the only way to redefine the truly coordinated outfit.
