10 new UMPCs in 2007?

Conceptumpc

As usual, the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas will be bursting with all kinds of gadget goodness. Rumor has it that 6 to 10 brand new UMPCs are already prepping themselves for the frenzy of flashbulbs that awaits them at or around the same time as the 4-day tradeshow in January. A member of the UMPC team over at Microsoft revealed the info at a recent conference, so I assume the new devices are "official" UMPCs that meet Microsoft’s hardware requirements. If this is the case, then the anticipated WWAN-enabled OQO and Intel/Yahoo unit aren’t being included in the count, right?

Regardless of what (if anything) makes it to CES 2007, it looks like the UMPC market is here to stay. At least for another year, anyway.
