New PSPs on the way

NewpspcolorsIt seems those colorful PSPs on display last month at the Tokyo Game Show were a hint of what was to come by year’s end. Sony announced today the upcoming release of the same ole’ PSP dressed up in as many as five different colors. Not quite the rumor anyone wanted confirmed, but I guess if none of the PSP skins suit your fancy, a silver or blue device may do the trick . . . assuming you’re in Japan, of course. The pink PSP, already offered in the UK, will be available in the Land of the Rising Sun on November 22, with its silver and blue siblings to follow on December 14 and 22, respectively.

No word on whether/when the new colors will hit the States. Considering that the ceramic white PSP (released in Japan about a year ago) still hasn’t made its way overseas, though, it’ll likely be a long time before U.S. consumers see new boxes at Best Buy.
