UMPC named one of year's scariest tech
It should come as no suprise when Sony’s flaming laptop batteries are included in a list of the "scariest tech of 2006," but it’s downright ridiculous to see ultramobile PCs alongside them. According to a recent article in Fortune magazine, the UMPCs are "doomed to wander in computing limbo forever" and "ideal for Hobbits, but not for humans." The market obviously isn’t without its share of naysayers, but come on!
The list also includes the Nintendo Wii "just for the name alone" and Amazon Unbox because its name is "sort of like undead."
I’m speechless.
