A penny for your LG Chocolate phone

Amazon_chocolateNothing says "Happy Holidays" like an IOU. A brand new LG Chocolate phone (VX8500) won’t make it under the tree this year, but a picture and receipt of one still can.

I don’t know how long this deal will last, but right now Amazon will pay you a penny if you take an LG Chocolate out of their stockroom. You need to sign up for a new service plan with Verizon Wireless, too, but that kind of goes without saying. The offer is exclusive to the original Chocolate, so you’ll need to rely on Santa for that free White, Cherry, or Mint handset.

The slider phone has been around for awhile now, so here’s a quick reminder of the specs: integrated MP3 player, touch-sensitive controls, support for V Cast, 1.3-megapixel digital camera with flash, 512MB internal memory, microSD expansion card slot, Bluetooth, and EV-DO access. The Chocolate measures 3.8" x 1.9" x 0.7" and weighs about 3.5 ounces.

All flavors of the phone are currently available directly from Verizon for $99 with two-year new service activation.
