Edgetech shows off 2004 PocketSurfer in 2007

Edgetech’s CEO was hoping to take CES 2007 by storm with TheEdge, its 5.50" x 2.75" x 0.58" wireless web handtop. "We could think of no better opportunity to expose the consumer electronics industry to Edgetech’s breakthrough product," he said, "than during the world’s largest collection of cutting edge gadgetry this week at its biggest annual trade show."

Pocketsurfer

After a fair amount of googling, I found out that TheEdge is actually just a rebranded PocketSurfer, DataWind’s generally well-received $199 device that was featured by CNET at CES 2005 and by TIME Magazine in 2004. No wonder TG Daily was unimpressed.

From the FAQ: "Are there any other devices like this on the market? No. Nothing compares to its speed and full Web access."
