HTC promises upcoming "cool stuff"
Despite its shares falling 4.1% after the announcement of the iPhone, HTC remains unfazed. Company CEO Peter Chou acknowledges that Apple’s device has a "pretty eye-catching design," but is quick to add that HTC has no plans to create a similar product, or even to enter the MP3 phone business. "We have our own cool stuff coming out as well," he said at CES, no doubt alluding to the Omni, Athena, and possibly its real entrance into the UMPC realm. Even though the Athena is often considered to fit the bill as the latter, it really doesn’t.
