Samsung portable digital TV powered by Linux

The last time we heard about the LMD10A-51W, Samsung’s 10-inch portable DMB TV and media player, it was called the LMD-10A51W and seemed to be contemplating the roles of women in Germany and Korea.

This week it was in the U.S., strutting its stuff in Las Vegas at CES at the Raza Microelectronics Inc (RMI) booth. Turns out the device is packing Linux (kernel 2.6) and RMI’s Alchemy Au1200 processor under its hood. Not that it matters to anyone in the States, of course, as T-DMB (and by extension, the LMD10A-51W) is exclusive to Europe and Asia.
