UMPC display at CES 2007

Ah, now this is more like it!

Umpcdisplay

I’ve been waiting for a shot like this after seeing something similar on my local news the other night. Engadget (who else?) has a gallery of 54 images from this display, including some close-up shots of that Yahoo concept UMPC I complained about yesterday, which they said "felt very solid in the hand, and features a well positioned thumbpad we found easy to use while holding the device two handed — a design which might have a chance of success if picked up by an OEM." (Those are all of Intel’s reference designs in the case.) They’re definitely coming around on their opinions of the form factor, too, saying that Vista, the new Origami Experience, and new ultra-low processers "might finally give the platform a fighting chance this summer."

They hate the Medion, though.
