Unknown Sony device needs identification

I’ve been watching the Sony Electronics News and Information page for awhile now, waiting for a press release to be issued that identifies this touchscreen-looking device that is sometimes shown in the header. What is it?

Assuming it isn’t something lame like a digital photo frame, I think I want one. For a minute I thought it might be a new VAIO Pocket or maybe a mini LocationFree TV. I’d like to believe that it’s a svelte 5-inch UMPC running Vista, but Sony’s advertising isn’t that horrible. I can’t make out whatever’s printed above the guy’s head and that woman’s smug expression tells me that she likes it that way. Either that or she’s taunting the gal in blue, who’s obviously trying to caress the man who just married someone else.

Are you suggesting a Sony electronic voodoo device?

  • @ Keith: Maybe that white smudge at the bottom of the device actually says XBOX…

@ Jeffgrado: That’s gotta be the only explanation for the smile on the blue gal’s face.

Pardon my saying so, but what device? All I see is one half of a nice set… ;)

Personally, I’d much rather have “model identification” instead of a “device identification”.

  • True to form!

But since you clearly have a more discerning eye, do you think the girl is actually looking at a picture of herself? They KIND OF look alike and it would make more sense for the girl in blue to be smiling over a picture from her wedding day.

From the side, she looks a bit like Krista Allen, who I assume you’re familiar with :)

There’s a picture? on a device? Sorry, my eyes won’t veer from the right-most third of the screen.

  • Yes, I like her hair color, too. The lighter streak is quite striking. Good eye! ;)
