Amtek Vistagami UMPC revealed
A collective sigh of relief was heard throughout the UMPC community today when OrigamiPortal.com posted an image and some tentative specs of the Amtek Vistagami (T770) that turned our stomachs in January. Thankfully, that green and white color scheme plaguing the prototype has been replaced with a much sleeker and more common black and silver combination. The initial release date (May) and price tag ($900) haven’t been confirmed, but most of the other gaps from last time have been filled in. Aside from obviously running Vista, then, the 1.9-pound UMPC will have a 1.2GHz Via C7M CPU, up to 1GB RAM, 40GB hard drive, 7" touchscreen (800 x 480), SD card slot, 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, wi-fi, two USB 2.0 ports, and stereo speakers. Pretty nice!
I think the perspective on the photo is a little off, though, because the device looks a bit squashed to me. In fact, I originally thought it was a new Raon Digital Vega, that brick-like handtop with the 4.3" screen.
