Samsung unleashes Ultra Smart F700

Samsung_f700_1 Rather than sit on it for a few more days and potentially steal the show at next week’s 3GSM World Congress, Samsung today announced its iPhone-rivaling Ultra Smart F700.

Underneath a rather small 2.78-inch touchscreen TFT (440 x 240), which features vibrating tactile feedback courtesy of VibeTonz, is a QWERTY thumboard that will definitely come in handy when emailing and browsing the Internet at HSDPA speeds up to 7.2Mbps. In addition, the F700 packs a 5-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, and a slew of supported audio and video formats into its 4.09" x 1.97" x 0.65" frame.

The Flash-based user interface leaves something to be desired in the design department, but the "drag and drop" touchscreen sounds like fair-enough compensation.

The Ultra Smart F700 is rumored to be just one of several new Samsung phones headed for the 3GSM floor. Incidentally, there was a bit of speculation awhile back that the SCH-i760 (Robin) was slated for a February 12th release. Not only is that this coming Monday, but it’s the first day of the conference as well. I hope it’s not a coincidence.
