Nintendo DS Browser coming to North America

DsbrowserlogoFinally! Almost a year after its launch in Japan, the Opera-powered web browser for the Nintendo DS is headed for the North American market in June (June 4th, if you’re marking your calendar). The U.S. availability of the aptly titled Nintendo DS Browser was first confirmed about two weeks ago at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, but Opera only issued a press release about it on Thursday (and the only thing I had on my mind then was the Samsung Q1 Ultra).

Pricing hasn’t been announced but general opinion is that it will probably fall into the range of current games ($20-$35). The browser has been available in Japan since July 2006, Europe since October 2006, and Australia since January 2007, so I’d say it’s about time the U.S. (and presumably Canada) got into the action as well. There’s a list of tips and tricks here if you want to get a (belated) head start.
