OQO Model 02 now shipping
OQO announced today that its first shipment of Model 02 handtops is now on its way into the hands of customers. I don’t see anything about this in the press release, but it seems that the news applies only to models running Windows XP. Units with Vista preinstalled are said to begin shipping in late April. How frustrating for those who pre-ordered the $1,850 "best" configuration! I haven’t heard any complaints about this, so maybe most people opted for the "good" and "better" XP versions? Seems odd to me. I don’t plan on buying a Model 02, but I know for sure that the next handtop/UMPC that joins my family will definitely be running Vista. I hope all the kinks are worked out by then.
