Treo without a camera

Treo_cameraPerhaps to appeal to business professionals whose workplaces frown upon gadgets equipped with cameras for privacy reasons, it seems that Palm offers all of its current Treo lineup sans camera.

The Treo 680 was first reported as being available in a camera-less version on Monday, but a quick look at the Smartphone Comparison Chart on Palm’s website suggests that this may actually have always been the case. In fact, a camera-less Treo  700p was discovered at Verizon Wireless back in January.

This snippet from the "digital camera" row in the comparison chart shows the superscript note number 8 under each Treo model.

Here’s the footnote.

There’s no info on whether buying a camera-free Treo knocks off a couple of bucks, but you can’t order one very easily anyway.
