Judging by the specs, photos, and PCMag.com’s review (reposted here), the FlipStart E-1001S doesn’t look like it was worth the wait. There’s no word on when it will be available for purchase, but given that its specs are already not up to snuff today, how the handtop will fare when it’s actually released doesn’t look promising. The specs aren’t horrible on their own, but I expect more than Windows XP, 512MB of RAM, and a 30GB hard drive for $1999.
I do like the touchpad above the keyboard, the SideShow-like secondary display, and the 5.6" LCD (1024 x 600), but nothing about the 5.4" x 4.0" x 1.3" device really makes me want it. I’m sure it looks better in person, but in pictures it looks a bit cheap and dinky. I’m just kind of "meh" about the whole thing. What about you?
