FlipStart handtop ships with Sprint EV-DO Rev A

Flipstart_buyEverytime I hear about the FlipStart handtop, I learn something new. Last month it was that Vista Business would be an option, and today it’s that the mini PC is equipped with EV-DO Revision A technology (activation and monthly plan through Sprint required). I don’t keep up with wireless broadband news, but I’ve read that Rev. A is supposed to be 5 or 6 times faster than standard EV-DO, which itself is already a step above EDGE, the only mobile broadband network I have access to because it’s built into Sony’s UX Micro PC series (and you know how that went).

The FlipStart’s specs now list "mobile broadband ready" as a connectivity option, but this is the first I’ve heard about it. Also news to me is that the device can now be ordered from the FlipStart Labs online store. Starting price remains (high) at $1999 regardless of operating system.
