iTop: Linux-based iPod laptop

ItopI lack the technical know-how and gadget vision of creative hackers and modders, so if I were in the shoes of a fellow named Owen, whose cracked iPod screen voided his warranty, I would’ve tossed the DAP into the trash straightaway.

But not Owen. No, to him, a lost device is a gained opportunity . . . to make a tiny laptop! He calls it the iTop and plans to add iBoy-like buttons and build some sort of speaker-enabled desk or table around it soon. I can’t really picture it (like I said, no gadget vision), but even in its current state I already prefer it over the MacMini Portable. It lacks the latter’s functionality, of course, but it successfully runs Linux and has full UIs. Pretty cool.
