Second-generation Asus Eee PC in the works
Even though the original Eee PC mini notebook UMPC is still only available for preorder, Asus is already working on its successor.
According to DigiTimes, the second-generation Eee PC will use Intel’s Merom processor and be more energy-efficient than its predecessor. It may also lose the internal fan of its sibling in an effort to reduce noise and further increase battery life. The new Linux-based handtop is reportedly on schedule for an April 2008 release, but I’d recommend ingesting this information with a few healthy spoonfuls of salt.
