Second-generation Asus Eee PC in the works

Asus_eee_pc_nbrEven though the original Eee PC mini notebook UMPC is still only available for preorder, Asus is already working on its successor.

According to DigiTimes, the second-generation Eee PC will use Intel’s Merom processor and be more energy-efficient than its predecessor. It may also lose the internal fan of its sibling in an effort to reduce noise and further increase battery life. The new Linux-based handtop is reportedly on schedule for an April 2008 release, but I’d recommend ingesting this information with a few healthy spoonfuls of salt.
