Tronic readying PMG-03 UMPC

Tronic_pmg03Singapore-based Tronic looks ready to move into the slider-style UMPC market with this upcoming PMG-03 unit discovered by jkkmobile.

Tronic’s PMG (that’s Portable Multimedia Gadget, by the way) series has been around since at least 2005 and currently includes a 7-inch rugged UMPC (or RUMPC), which we’ve seen before as the TufTab v7112XT, two 8.4-inch tablets, and a 12-incher appropriately called the PMG 12".

The new PMG-03 will not only be the company’s smallest handheld unit (5-inch display), but also its first to be equipped with a hardware keyboard. The device will reportedly run on an ultra low voltage VIA processor (VX800 chipset) and be capable of supporting Vista. Other details, including pricing and availability, are unknown.
