Apple UMPC-like portable device "details" surface

Apple_portable_mockup

Seeking Alpha today threw a few more logs onto the "Apple is making a UMPC/MID" fire that was recently rekindled by AppleInsider. Unlike the homemade MacMini Portable from nearly a year ago, the mysterious new device described by Seeking Alpha’s David Sieger is likely still in its hardware design and software infancy, meaning that Macworld attendees shouldn’t sit too close to the edge of their seats when Jobs takes the stage.

When (and if) the product is announced, Sieger thinks it will be flash-based, have a 5.2-inch 800 x 480 landscape-oriented touchscreen flanked by a single button or depression, and rely on its multi-touch technology for data input. The mock-up (above), based on what is currently "known" about the unit, isn’t exactly awe-inspiring or creative, but I suppose a keyboard-less slate can only take on so many forms. What do you think?
