Fujitsu LOOX U series gets 64GB SSD option

Fujitsu_loox_ssdThe colorful mini convertibles that make up the Fujitsu LOOX U series, the Japanese variant of the LifeBook U810, can now be ordered with a 64GB solid state drive.

Choosing the SSD over the standard 40GB HDD and adding to the fancily named cerulean blue, diamond black, laser white, and raspberry units is expected to cost those in Japan a rather hefty 95,000 yen (about $890). Those in the U.S., according to Engadget, could see the new drive as an option for the U810 as early as March (perhaps to coincide with the release of the 3G winged clamshell), presumably for a similar price.

GeekStuff4U.com corroborates the springtime availability of both the SSD and a 60GB HDD for the LOOX U50XN and prices them at a very specific $935.69 and $101.04, respectively.
