Intel MID round-up at CES 2008
Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) were the primary focus of the CES coverage here at Pocketables. We visited the Intel booth so often during the course of the show that one of the representatives even named us "Back Again." Rather than have you sift through the CES page looking for a particular MID that may have been featured here, I’ve put together a quick list with relevant links to all the devices that were assaulted by our camera lens.
Check out the MID promo video looping in the center of the display and then click any of the links below to see photos and find out a bit more about the new devices supposedly scheduled for release this year.
- Aigo MID
- Clarion MiND (mobile internet navigation device)
- Digifriends MID
- EB MIMD (mobile multimedia internet device)
- Gigabyte MID
- Inventec MID
- Lenovo MID
- LG MID (LG calls this device a UMPC)
- Toshiba MID (includes video; Toshiba calls this device a concept UMPC)
- USI MID
- Willcom MID (prototype)
The MID showcase also included a few UMPCs:
- Amtek U560
- Fujitsu U810
- HTC Shift
- Samsung Q1 Ultra
We also came across two other Menlow-based devices not shown at the Intel booth:
There are other MIDs in existence (BenQ, for example), but they were all camera shy.
