Lenovo MID and EB MIMD in pictures

Ces08_intelmid

CES 2008 wrapped up yesterday, but Pocketables is still in Vegas with a few days’ worth of showroom-floor content left to share with you. I’ll post a "thoughts on CES" piece when we head back to Honolulu, but for now, here are some photos snapped at the Intel booth of the Lenovo MID and EB MIMD. There’s also two shots of the Moorestown iPhone-looking concept unit because it made a brief appearance inside the showcase.

Lenovo MID

UMPCPortal.com was among the first to discover this device, which sports a 4.8-inch touchscreen, camera, dedicated volume buttons, and a phone-style letter/number keypad on the right.

We recorded a video of the interface, as demonstrated to us by an Intel rep, but the result wasn’t any better than this original one from YouTube:

EB MIMD

EB’s Mobile Internet Multimedia Device (MIMD) is one that has been seen before and may not ever really come to market. It’s an OEM unit, so there’s a chance that we could see it branded by someone somewhere down the line.

It wasn’t a working model and the woman behind the counter wouldn’t let us touch it.

Moorestown concept MID

This is the unnamed concept device that Intel first showed in September when talking about Moorestown, Menlow’s successor.

It wasn’t there every time we visited the booth and when it was, I don’t think it came out from under the glass.
