Samsung Q1b UMPC for $570 after rebate

Samsung_q1b_buy If the latest crop of UMPCs, MIDs, and other handtops sporting hardware keyboards has you longing for the good ole’ Origami days when slates relied solely on their touchscreens for data input, then head over to Buy.com to pick up a brand new Samsung Q1b.

Originally priced at $800, the UMPC can now be yours for just $570 after a $100 mail-in rebate. The specs of the 7-inch device may seem outdated when compared to current and upcoming offerings that run Windows Vista on at least 1GB of RAM, but considering how many people consider an XP downgrade to really be an upgrade, XP Tablet Edition on 512MB of RAM is probably good news.

Buy.com is actually offering rebates on eight Q1 models (PDF), including five Q1 Ultra units, but none is as affordably priced as the Q1b. Pair it with the Q1 keyboard and/or organizer, and you’ve got yourself a nice mobile tech solution for not much more than an Asus Eee PC 8G ($500).
