HTC Advantage X7510 has 16GB flash memory
Considering last month’s news about the updated T-Mobile Ameo, today’s unveiling of the HTC Advantage X7510 should come as no surprise to fans of the Advantage X7501.
Scheduled for release in Europe and "select countries" in March, the new X7510 will feature a "future version of Windows Mobile" (no doubt 6.1, as leaked by T-Mobile Germany), 16GB of flash memory, a new keyboard with haptic feedback, and an accelerometer that detects screen orientation. Aside from the discrepancy in storage type (previous information suggested a 16GB microdrive), then, everything about the X7510 is in keeping with the refreshed Ameo news.
The rest of the unit’s specs are the same, so we’re still looking at a 5-inch VGA display, 3.1-megapixel digital camera, miniSD card, HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, wi-fi, 256MB ROM/128MB RAM, and 624MHz PXA270 processor. The hardware is slightly modified, though, as the joystick and other hardware buttons flanking the X7501’s display aren’t present on the X7510.
The two units sport nearly identical dimensions: the X7501 is 5.26" x 3.89" x 0.79" (with keyboard attached); the X7510 is 5.25" x 3.85" x 0.82" (with keyboard attached). The difference is so negligible that I’m sure it’ll be imperceptible in person.
It’s no secret around here how much I adore my HTC Advantage X7501, so this won’t be the last you’ll hear of the X7510. I’m bracing myself for the price, which I assume will be quite high considering how much I paid for the Advantage last summer ($850). I sure would love to be proven wrong!
