Special edition Asus Eee PC 4G for Valentine's Day

Eee_pc_valentinesIf my newly unboxed pink Asus Eee PC 2G Surf has you reconsidering that teddy bear you were going to give your gadget-minded sweetheart tonight, hold on to your receipt and take a look at this Special Limited Edition Blush Pink Eee PC 4G.

The specs are still identical to the Pearl White and Galaxy Black 4G mini notebooks (4GB SSD, 512MB RAM, webcam, 5200mAh li-ion battery), so the "special" part of the $400 Valentine’s Day package refers to 1) a pink slipcase that some have reported is actually black and 2) a "charmingly embellished box" that live shots reveal is really just a cardboard sleeve. It’s not great, sure, but it doesn’t cost any more than the non-special, non-limited edition 4G does either. It’s also configured much better than the 2G Surf, which is currently the only other pink Eee PC around.

It isn’t clear how much longer the set will be available, but a big pink heart printed on an ultra pink box probably won’t be too marketable after Valentine’s Day. So if you want it, you’d better get it now.
