Universal abit MIDs due in H2 2008

Usi_abit_mids_cebitPocketables reader Jumper directed me to HEXUS.net this afternoon to take a look at two Centrino Atom (Menlow) MID prototypes that Universal abit (the result of USI’s acquisition of floundering Taiwanese company ABIT back in 2006) are showing at CeBIT this week.

I recognized the top unit immediately because I saw it at Digital Experience in January; it was called the USI MID-100 back then (hands-on photos below) but I don’t think it is anymore. The black MID below it, on the other hand, is one that I haven’t seen before. The larger version of the photo (also below) shows the word "Delore" beneath the display and "MID navigation" above it. Based on that alone, which isn’t much to go on, I’m going to assume that its functions will be similar to the Clarion MiND until I hear otherwise.

HEXUS.net expects that both units will feature Bluetooth, wi-fi, WiMAX, and eventually integrated GPS when released in the second-half of the year.
