Toshiba UMPC up for preorder at eXpansys

The 5.6-inch Toshiba MID that an Intel spokesperson at Digital Experience told me would be released this year, despite Toshiba itself showing multicolored variations of the shiny unit and its "eMotion Feel" interface as nothing but a concept UMPC, has just landed its first preorder page courtesy of eXpansys. The company is playing it conservatively with its "not announced" price, which while frustrating (we all like an exaggerated ballpark!) will probably end up being better for sales than prematurely posting something way off base (ahem) just because.

If your memory is in need of some freshening up, take a look at the Toshiba UMPC live shots or view the looping video demo that was shown at CES 2008 below.

  • I have to be honest, the hardware looks like it is a dev platform or something. I thought the device would have been completely changed before its release.
