Kohjinsha SC mini note with GPS and Intel Atom

UPDATE 07.16.08: Read my full Kohjinsha SC3 review

Kohjinsha sure has come a long way from the SA mini notebook series it launched in November 2006. Its inaugural convertible-style UMPC lacked a touchscreen, had a horrible keyboard, and was AMD-based. New models released since then have gotten incrementally better first with more hard drive space, followed by a touchscreen and SSD, then an Intel CPU, and later a built-in DVD drive. Today, jkkmobile stumbled upon the new SC series of 7-inch mini notes, which in addition to a 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor has an ExpressCard/34 slot and GPS.

Comprising the Vista-based SC series are the SC3KP06A, SC3KP06F, SC3KP06GA, SC3WP06A, SC3WP06F, and SC3WP06GA, which vary in configuration (only the highest models have GPS and Bluetooth) and range in price from 89,800 to 109,800 yen (about $833 to $1018).
