Poll: What do you like most about netbooks?

My lack of personal interest in netbooks hasn’t changed since the last time they broke the 7-inch device rule I’m really trying to stick to around here, but since the Pocketables Forum has become a place for netbook fans to gather and Asus now has plans to start a 23-member Eee PC family, I can’t help but break my self-imposed rule just one more time.

My love of miniaturization means that an 8.9- or 10-inch netbook, which to me is a completely different animal from a "real" UMPC, will never be reviewed here. I’ve actually already turned down several loaner netbooks and similarly sized computers (e.g., Kohjinsha SX3) to make sure I stay focused and don’t stray off-topic just because of what’s popular in the mainstream market.

That said, I’m still interested in knowing what you find most appealing about netbooks. What is it that makes them so irresistible? Is price really the only thing that matters? If UMPCs like the HTC Shift and Willcom D4 were only $500, would the masses suddenly stop calling them pointless?

The pieces in her tech wardrobe that go with everything are currently the Samsung Galaxy Note II, Sony Tablet P, and Nexus 7, but there are still a couple of vintage UMPCs/MIDs in the back of her closet.
