Kohjinsha SC3 due in December with Windows XP

Kohji_sc3_xp

If Vista is the main reason you haven’t picked up the 7-inch Kohjinsha SC3 mini convertible yet, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Geek Stuff 4 U will begin selling the Atom-powered 60GB UMPC preloaded with Windows XP next month.

This is great news for those who share the common belief that Vista doesn’t belong on UMPCs. I’ve never had an issue with the OS (I actually prefer it), but my needs/tastes are not your needs/tastes. If you’re currently on the fence about it, watch this video of Vista Home Premium on my Willcom D4, which runs on the same platform as the SC3, to make up your mind. If you’re not impressed, then remember that the RAM in the Kohjinsha is upgradeable to 2GB. And if you’re still not impressed, then Geek Stuff 4 U has got you covered (assuming you speak either English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish). The XP-flavored SC3 starts at about $1,100.

If you’re interested in the SC3 or are already a happy/frustrated owner, please join us in the Kohjinsha forum.

Thanks, Hector!
