The UMID F1 isn’t generating the same level of interest from CES attendees as the M1 mbook, but since it isn’t often that we see a 7-inch UMPC with a breathalyzer and GPS functions, we had to stop by the UMID booth at the Hilton yesterday to take a bunch of pictures.
The WVGA resolution, 30GB/60GB hard drive, and 1.2GHz VIA processor aren’t among the highlights, but the F1 has an FM transmitter, GPS, USIM slot, HSDPA, remote control, Bluetooth, and up to 9 hours of runtime with the extended battery. With the "alcohol test" function ("simply one deep breath will guide you whether you to drive a car or not" says the product brochure), integrated GPS with "cutting-edge positioning technology of the U-block GPS antenna," and the FM transmitter for connecting to car audio systems, the UMID sounds ideal for the dashboard.
