Viliv announces S5 MID launch schedule

Viliv_s5_press Viliv sent out an email this morning with pricing and specifications for the four models of S5 MIDs that will begin shipping in March.

On February 24th, Viliv will begin accepting Korean preorders until the 26th for the S-LOG, I-LOG, and F-LOG models (579,00 to 749,000 KRW) with shipment to follow on March 3rd. The company expects the Premium model, destined for the US and priced at $649, to go out for delivery at the end of March (no preorder info mentioned). All four units have the following specs in common: 1.33GHz Atom Z520 processor, 1GB RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4.8-inch screen (with haptic feedback), and a hard drive.

Now for the differences. The S-LOG, the base model, has a lower 800 x 480 resolution and is the only unit that can be configured with a 30GB hard drive. All of the other models have 60GB drives and a higher 1024 x 600 resolution. The US-bound Premium device also has GPS, as does the high-end Korean F-LOG model, which has a built-in DMB tuner as well.

Take a look at the chart below to keep it all straight. There's a video of the S5 running iTunes down there too.
