Owl iMpc A10 UMPC runs Windows XP

Owl_impc_a10

China-based Owl Co. is so intent on making sure that we know its new handheld is a "real computer" and not just a PDA that it's named the product line iMpc, meaning "I am a computer" (seriously). The confirmation doesn't do any harm, of course, but one look at the specs makes the unit's identity as a full-fledged UMPC pretty undeniable.

The first device in the iMpc series is the A10, which has the following specs:

CPU:
1.2GHz VIA C7
RAM: 1GB DDR2
OS: Windows XP Home
Storage: 16GB SSD with SD/MMC card slot
Display: 5.6" TFT touchscreen (800 x 480)
Wireless: 802.11b/g
Interfaces: 2 USB 2.0 ports, VGA, ethernet, headphone,
microphone, speaker, optical mouse, power
Camera: 2 megapixels (front-facing)
Size: 5.9" x 3.7" x 0.9"
Weight: 12.3 ounces
Battery: 4800mAh, runtime up to 5 hours

Pretty good on its own, if you ask me, but what makes it even better is the price: the iMpc A10 retails for just 2999 yuan (~$438). It's available right now for bulk orders (100 pieces) on Alibaba, which unfortunately is probably the only way anyone outside of China stands a chance of getting one.
