Dell rumored to release Android-powered MID this year

Dell_mid

There's very little information to go on right now but when the Wall Street Journal (via Engadget) says that Dell is tinkering with Google's Android OS for use on several products scheduled for release this year, including a MID, it's enough to warrant some attention.

The fact that Dell once referred to its Inspiron Mini as a Mobile Internet Device concerns me a bit, as a netbook running Android isn't as newsworthy for this site as an actual MID would be, but I'm going to remain hopeful for the time being. I imagine that Dell's take on a MID will be a conservative slate-style device with ho-hum specs, but I'd love to be surprised by a super sleek slider with built-in HSDPA, WVGA capacitive touchscreen (5 inches or so?), 32GB SSD, expansion card slot, 3.2-megapixel rear camera, and backlit keyboard.

What would you like to see in a Dell MID?
