Free DVR Station with 250GB Archos 5 purchase

A5_on_dvr

I was first introduced to the Archos brand in 2003 and purchased the AV420 shortly after it was released the following year. Back then, there was no such thing as an optional add-on to enhance the player's functionality and the retail box was positively stuffed with accessories. Direct recording from TV and other video sources was a built-in feature that didn't require what Archos later introduced as the DVR Station, an optional accessory that was available separately for the Gen 4 to Gen 6 players and included free (albeit in much uglier form) with previous generations.

I've had three Archos PMPs (604 WiFi, 704 WiFi, 5 IMT) since the AV420 and haven't purchased the DVR Station for any of them out of protest. Maybe it's silly, but I just refuse to buy an accessory that 1) I don't really need (I'm not a big DVR-er) and 2) used to be included free with older players.

So when Amazon sent out an email this morning announcing that from now until June 13th, everyone who buys a 250GB Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet gets the $100 DVR Station freeir?t=pocketables 20&l=ur2&o=1 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here, I just couldn't keep the news to myself. Happy recording!
