Considering that multimedia e-dictionaries, which are all the rage in Korea, have started to become more advanced with WinCE 5.0 cores, WiFi, and Bluetooth (e.g., Udea Expert 300W), it was really only a matter of time before one of them got outfitted with Windows XP and an Intel Atom CPU.
Say hello to the UMID mbook M1D (M1D-101KWA), little sister of the mbook M1 MID. I realize that "M1D" could be mistaken for a typo of "MID," but don't be fooled. The M1D differentiates itself from the original M1 by doubling as one of those regular e-dictionaries with preinstalled multi-language software content provided by Doosan. It also has only a 1.1GHz Intel Atom processor (rather than the 1.3GHz chip in higher spec'd M1 units) and does not include a webcam or the DMB module found in Korean M1 models.
What the M1D does have, however, is all the rest of the M1's specs: 4.8-inch touchscreen (1024 x 600), Windows XP, 512MB RAM, 16GB SSD, Bluetooth, and WiFi. A 2GB microSD card will also be included.
Korean e-tailer Sorimaul will be selling the UMID mbook M1D for a price that will be revealed next week; it seems they'll be making the dictionary software available for existing M1 users to purchase as well.
