Mintpass mintpad now being sold at Amazon

Mintpad_amazon

If you missed out on the limited supply of mintpass mintpads that were available back in June and have been waiting for the tiny unit's official US release, then you'll be pleased to know that Amazon.comir?t=pocketables 20&l=as2&o=1&a=B002GE46BC - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here is now selling the 3.1" x 2.5" x 0.6" device through a third-party merchant.

But it's not just any third-party merchant; it's JetAudio, who most people know because of its affiliation with Cowon. Why would mintpass, who has roots in iriver, team up with a former competitor to handle its US sales? Because according to the company's account executive, they "feel that rather than working with small timers, it may be a better option to work with [a] bigger player like Cowon." Mintpass is also a completely separate entity from iriver, so partnering with JetAudio/Cowon really isn't scandalous.

Now as you can see from the screen capture, there's only a single mintpad left in stock. So if all the specs and my first impressions of the WinCE-based device intrigue you, then it's probably a good idea to head over there. And if you do get one, be sure to check out the forum to connect with other owners.
