Reminder: Pocketables is hiring a new writer
This Friday, October 23rd, is the last day that applications for the daily news writer position here at Pocketables will be accepted. The response has been great so far, but there's still time to get your voice heard by submitting the required sample posts.
Don't forget to read all the instructions on how to apply, especially where the samples are concerned, because a lot of applicants seem to have missed the points about 1) submitting something that would actually appear on this website, 2) crediting sources, and 3) keeping each post somewhere in the range of 150 to 200 words.
As a reminder, this is a paid position and if chosen, your start date will be in mid-November.
Because my presence on the site will be significantly reduced while my husband and I focus on being new parents, I'd like to hire someone who is reliable, self-sufficient, and can truly commit to his/her chosen schedule at least until early next year (when I'd no longer need as much help to keep Pocketables updated). Once I begin to get a handle on motherhood and am not quite as sleep deprived, I'll be able to resume regular work on the site and we can discuss continued employment options.
Thanks to everyone who's applied so far and to those whose applications will be turned in throughout the week. I'll be in touch with potential candidates about their one-day trial runs soon.
